I keep reading alot about 5 FU for treatment. Just curious as to the benefits. My mom is getting cisplatin and Irontecan (sp?) but not 5FU

I had the ECX chemo (Epirubuicin, Cisplatin, Xeloda) Xeloda is an oral form of 5 FU. I don't know the difference between the ingredients but certainly Cisplatin is very unpleasant from my experience. I wish you and you mom well. I have recently had my operation and am now on the road to recovery.

They use different chemos to treat different cancers. This is a question I would ask the oncologist.
