Hi,
I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma of the right breast. I had a mastectomey end of April, started treatments in in late may. Had 4 a/c chemo treatments which ended in August on the 11th.
I've been randomized into a clinical trial. I will be taking exemestane for 5 years. I've also been getting the triptorelin shot. I will be getting that shot until december and then am planning to have ovaries out.
Anyone taking exemestane right now. What type of side effects have you been experiencing. Also after chemo how long does it take for your hair to start growing back.

I was dx in march of 2005,finished chemo in august 2005.
I have been participating in what sounds like the same clinical trial, triptorelin shot and exemestane, since February 2006. I have just a few side effects. The two most troublesome being numerous hotflashes daily and I have alot of joint pain. Mostly in my hands but at times in feet and hips as well.

What has made you decide to have your ovaries removed? Are the shots to hard on you? I wish you well. Nice to talk to someone who is taking the same steps as i am. I have posted before and noone does
