Hi - this is the first time I have posted. My motherinlaw has pancreatic cancer (diagnosed Dec) and is very poorly at the moment. She is losing lots of weight (currently 5.5 stone) and is being sick a lot. She can't go to the toilet and is in a lot of pain.

My question is what to expect from now? We realise she will not get better but it is hard seeing her so ill. I need to understand what to expect so that I can support my husband through this.

Can anyone let me know whether this is nearing the final stages for her?

Thanks.

I have Stage IV Pancreatic cancer, and the pain killers cause very difficult constipation. My Gastroenterologist prescribed Glycolax (Polyethelyne Glycol 3350) which helps maintain lots of water in the intestines, which helps things move. It is not a cure-all, and it is not a quick thing, but at least there is motility.

I take 17 grams of it in fruit juice, twice a day, and it makes ta great difference. I hope this helps.

Cheers!

Marty
