Hope someone can help us.
In Sept 04 my then 33 year old husband was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, ( no family history)
He underwent surgery , 6 months of 5fu/oxaplatin/avastin.
Finished chemo on June 6, 2005 and at that time had no evidence of cancer.
In Feb 06 they found a spot on his liver, after an assortment of tests including PET scan and biopsy it was decided the liver tumor was benign.
Fast forward to a month ago. His stomach starting swelling , and he developed a cough , we thought the cough was due to allergies as we were in Louisian at the time , never been there before , and the air is horrid. ( we live in Michigan)
He started having pain in his abdomen , the swelling was getting worse, so we made the trip home so he could get seen.
The ER did a ct scan , and they found ascites , abdominal carcinomatosis, partially collapsed left lung and pleural effusion.
He doesnt see the oncologist until monday,
He also has been having serious night sweats , (drenching bedding)
and extreme weight loss( has loss 17lbs in a little over 3 weeks )
Any ideas what we are suppose to do until monday , anyone had similar experiences?
