My mum has just been diagnosed with cancer of the cervix which has spread to the anus. She is currently living in Spain so there is a language barrier. She originally went to a private hospital where they informed her after a scan and an internal examination and a biopsy that the cancer was too big to operate on and that she would need to have radiotherapy. Because we had to move her to an NHS equivalent hospital (not enough funds to keep her in private) they have now done another examination, no biopsy or scan, and have said that they will operate was they have done a scan, because thats how they work??
If one hospital say its too big? how come the other hospital are so quick to say that they are going to operate and they haven't even done there own scan yet?
I don't know what is happening, I don't know how serious this form of cancer is?
If it is big and malignant that doesn't sound good?
What does she need to do to be able to fly home to England?
Any help, guidance or comments would be greatly appreciated to help me fill some of the blanks that I have.

I am sorry I do not have any answers, but do not give up someone will post a reply. Somethimes it jsut takes a little time. Do you have a physician in England you could ask some questions?

It has all happened so quickly (the hospital stuff anyway), mum has had pains apparently for about 3 months, but she doesn't say anything, she had been to see a specialist about these pains that she had when she went to the toilet about 3-4 weeks ago, she was still waiting for a 2nd appointment after having an x-ray and prescribed anti biotics which did nothing.
It wasn't until the pain became unbearable that she went to hospital where she was admitted, this was only on monday, my sisters flew out on tuesday and everyday we learn something more awful. Now with the change of the hospital it just seems we have gone backwards again.
