I'm 20, male, and I grew up with a mother who was very health conscious. I'm very healthy and ever since my mom died in '02 of breast cancer that mastisiced I've devoted myself to a strict healthy diet. Plenty of exercise and fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, chicken and fish (mostly salmon) and swimming and spending a good amount of time on my bike. Well..

A tumor was found inside my spinal cord at the base of my neck two days ago. I still don't know if it's benign or malignant but signs are pointing towards benign. I'll find out soon after another MRI and my neurosurgeon (whom I actually work for) is sending me down to Shands in gainsville, FL. As of today, ive aquired a juicer and am starting my "so healthy it's not even enjoyable anymore" diet. Doctor's have said that my age and good health may be a plus.

I wanted to know, does radiation therapy or my immune system have any effect on a benign tumor?

Thanks,
-Hunter
