My mom (64, NSCLC 4, with liver and bone metastasis) got her new tests after three cycles of Navelbine + Avastin. The tests show an improvement at the lung and a stabilized situation to the liver and bones.

This is good news (somehow), since the tests we got in the past after three cycles of Gemzar + Paraplatin had shown a deterioration of her situation.

Because my mothers is experiencing a lot of muscle-arthritis pain, that could be chemo side effects, doctors have decided to replace Navelbine with Alimta.

Does anyone know anything about Alimta?

Many thanks and best wishes to all!

Everyone does different with each chemo...my Dad didn't do good on Alimta. He just started Avastin yesterday by itself though, too many bad side effects if used with another chemo. I'm hoping this works for him and hope the Alimta works for your Mom! The gemzar and carboplatin didn't help him much either.
