My wife has just been diagnosed with Adv Kid Cancer. She had the rt kidney removed in June due to Renal Carcenoma. It had not matastsized at that point. Just a minute lump at the bottom of the incision in the Nov checkup and all was clear. The lump has grown to the size of a golfball. CT scan, chest xray and bloodtests all show the area where the kidney was removed has matastasized and also the lump is cancer. We have an apptmt with a Phoenix Oncologist tomorrow. We have just learned about the M D Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston, TX. Any experiences with the Hospital shared would be great and also anyone with the same situation would be great to talk to. Thank you in advance for your help. Just retired and enjoying life?????????

I worked at Hurmann Hospital in Houston for 3 years and know MD Anderson very well. It is an excellent hospital! They will not only care for your wife but also care for you.

I am sorry to hear about your wife and I hope everything goes well with her. My prayers and thoughts are with you both.

Have you heard anything about Cellular Defense and Zeolites? They seem to be helping many to remove toxins, balance ph, etc.... things that are really important in fighting cancer. There are some encouraging testimonials on some other forums.

MD Anderson is a leading cancer in the world and ranks along Memorial-Sloan Kettering in NY and Dana-Farber in Boston. Really any top 10 center in the US is a good place to go for a 2nd opinion. The advantage of going to one of these cancer centers is expertise and access to clinical trials. In the situation of an advanced kidney cancer, a 2nd opinion is probably a good idea.

As for the above message regarding complementary alternative medicines. All of these are options, but be aware that testimonials and research based evidence are very different things. Consider everything, but be careful when trying methods not well researched as side effects can occur with any treatment. Many "chemotherapy" agents are derived from herbs. Always consult with your medical team regarding any types of treatments.
