Ask her doctor for a referral to a dietician. A dietician with access to your grandmother’s medical files can tell you what the best high protein supplement your grandmother should use.

the nurses would recommend ensure or any of those multivitamin shake drinks. Those were the shakes that they would give me everyday while in chemo treatment and I have like a stack of them at home because I just kept them cause there were so many and some aren't that great tasting.

I know there are people who do not like the taste of those ensure type milkshakes. My father is one of those. So here is my “secret recipe” but you should consult with your physician before using it.

1 can of ensure type shake
½ of a ripe banana
2 scopes of vanilla or strawberry ice-cream
A small hand-full of ice-cubes
Milk

Put shake, banana, ice-cream, and ice into a blender. Add just enough milk to fill the empty spaces between other ingredients (too much milk will ruin it). Blend until the mixture is of a regular milk-shake consistency. Drink and enjoy.

Once ore, first consult with a physician. I do not know this for sure, but some chemotherapy treatments may require you to avoid bananas or strawberries.
