Yes i'm 15 and in june 2005 i first felt this little bump just below my ear i went to my grandparents in july and told them about it they said it was nothing, also went to my aunt said it was nothing. now its still there and i havn't noticed any growth in the bump and its the size of a pencil eraser. I do not have pain around or on the bump. I have had flu like symptoms like fever around 99.2 little bit of coughing and conjestion in my chest i'm sure its just the flu but i figure i would just throw that in. I hope the bump is nothing could it be just a stray lymph node? I really need to get this out it's driving me crazy i'm so stressed out.

Hi Tyler,
There are many things it could be... Only a doctor who actually sees it can tell you for sure. You obviously already know that it can be a swollen lymph node. Their purpose is to filter out infections. So if you have the flu, it would not be unusual for you to also have a swollen node. It could also be a cyst... a little pocket of fluid. They are very common. I have one on my nose. It comes and goes. I do not understand why, but it does. If it is not growing, I would not worry too much. But next time you have a chance, have a doctor look at it. If it starts to bleed, or change color, or to grow, get to a doctor!

Also, show it to your parents or whoever is looking out for you. I expect that they love you enough to take action if action is required.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor and only give advice based on my own personal experience. If you have any further questions, please take them to your family doctor.

Well, different cancers grow at differnet rates. However, if it has been there for 7 months with no significant change.... that is a long time if it is cancerous. Still, my previous advice stands.
