I recently had to make a decision to begin immunotherapy for bladder cancer. I searched for any information from anyone who had undergone this particular type of treatment and was unable to find anyone who would respond. I underwent surgery to remove a tumor but since I refused the BCG treatment due to fear of the unknown, a new tumor came back requiring a second surgery. I have since began the BCG treatments and will share my experiences with anyone facing this situation if it will help them to conquer their fears of undergoing this treatment. I have found the treatments are not nearly as frightening or unpleasant as the literature described it. Just looking to help anyone I can facing this same situation.

My dad just had his first BCG treatment. The doctor did this in his office and sent my dad home. Is this normal? I read that you should lie down for 2 hrs and rotate from side to side. After my dad got home and after 2 hrs he still did not urinate and has no urgency to urinate. Can the medication stay in his body for so long? Thanks for any info that you can provide.
