I have been newly diagnosed with infiltrating lobular carcinoma of the breast. I've been scheduled for a lumpectomy the first week of August. The original lump was removed and the margins were clear, however, I do know that lobular cancer has a tendency to be bilateral. I'm not sure if I should push for a double mastectomy or not. I'm confused, scared and mad. I also cry for no reason recently and am usually the strong one of the family. I lost my father to heart disease after spending 4 months in a hospital with him in a town 200 miles away. I quit my job and feel like my life is spinning out of control. Can anyone help me get through this

Hang in there Liz. Life seems out of control right now. I have relation that have been through this same thing and she is just now had reconstruction on both breasts. She just keeps fighting the big C. Keep as positive as possible, your in my prayers and God Bless. I just lost my sister 6-11-05 because she didn't follow through with signs and symtoms which she knew were there. Keep your head up and pushing forward. Arrow Arrow Arrow forward

Dear Liz: Keep your faith and accept prayers which are going up for you as we speak. I am (have been) battling bladder cancer, high grade and am currently undergoing immunotherapy. I have two very close friends that have recently undergone reconstruction for both breasts and the positive attitudes of both is incredible. I also live in Oklahoma so if you just need a pal to talk to I would be happy to do so. I am sure I have experienced all the emotions you have and understand them all. Take care Rolling Eyes
