My boyfriends mother has had non hodgkins lymphoma for a long time now. She is in the hospital now and has been for about two weeks. She keeps running very high fevers, sometimes 104 degrees. They have to give her tylenol every four hours or she will fever highly again. Today they are going to start giving her Motrin instead so that she does'nt get any liver damage from the tylenol. She sleeps all the time, weighs 93 lbs. and has water retention in her right leg now. They have run every test imaginable and say that they cannot find any infection anywhere that would be causing the fevers. They are totally at a standstill now and do not know what is causing this. Has anyone ever esperienced this in anyone
that they might know. She was in remission until it came back again this time. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hello

Lymphomas such as hers can cause "tumor fevers", when the cancer itself provokes very high fevers, but the doctors are right to rule out an infectious cause for this. If the case is really tumor fevers, the only thing to treat that is to treat the cancer itself.

regards,
Leo
