Very scared

I have just been diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma and will have to have chemo for around 6-8months. Im so scared as to what might happen, the side affects and losing my hair. is anyone else going through this or been through it?

CHOP+R started Fed 26th 2009

and we can go from there.....if you could provide as close as possible y our exact diagnosis and what treatment is being provided....your's is somewhat different from mine and others here can guide as to what to expect.

Chin up tho...treatment has come a long way and I expect a few months from now to have no signs of cancer and be on my way to recovering from the chemo ( it has it's moments Rolling Eyes

).

It has had some impact on daily life but not all that much.

Good luck, keep your spirits up and use your support network.

Radiation to come as a prophylactic measure.

No more treatments scheduled

Hi Karen,

So sorry you had to find your way here. To be honest, most of us on this board are from the non-Hogkin's side, though from what little I know it seems to actually be more curable than non-Hodgkins.

As far as the general treatment goes, yes you will lose your hair, and yes, you will have some trying days. But it is all very "doable", and the road you travel has been paved by many thousands before you.

With regards to specific questions pertaining to Hodgkins, I recommend checking out the following resource, which has more active Hodgkins participants:
