Hi there,
Just to give you a backround on me, i'm 21 had hodgkins Lympoma when i was 17 stage IIa, had 8 cycles of ABVD and a month of radiotherapy. Thankfully have been in remission for the last 2 and a half years. Recently however i found a large hard lump under my ear and yesterday found one further down my neck. i have no other symptoms except from being tired, i'd say staying up worrying is whats doing that!
i was just wndering what are the rates of the lymphoma coming back, and are these normal areas to have swollen glands?
I'm terrible worried as i dont think i could go through all that chemo again, my mum has just had a mastectomy and i definently dont need this right now.
thanks in advance! |

Hi bueno87
So sorry that this has happened to you. You have done the right thing in getting into the doctor so quick. It sounds like you are in good hands. Dont panic as at this stage it could be anything but i do understand how much this would worry you.
Good luck and keep us posted. _________________ Age 52

Hi ya,
Just noticed this after I had already replied to your PM. I'm glad you have gone straight back to a top doctor and not had to mess about with others. That is a good sign that they are taking it seriously (even if it is an infection or something else). I hope your appointment goes well on tuesday. As you know, the proceedure is to take bloods, biopsy etc etc.... so I think you'll be ok and they may even speed it through so that you don't have to have those sleepless nights any more.
You had the same thing that I have now, and so it's nice to see someone who has come through it. My mother also had breast cancer, so I know how that feels as well. My mum's two sisters have both had cancer as well. One had had ovarian, the other has had cancer of the vulva (outside of vagina) and all were quite young. I think there must be a connection with 'women's cancers' but I'm not sure, and have o scientific evidence?????? So I am only picking my own brain!
Anyway, hope you stay posting because your story is very similar to mine, and it would be nice to have someone around too!
Let us know how it goes. I'm thinking of you..........
