Hi,
New to the board. I am seeking a sample of a two-week anti-cancer diet. Anyone know where I can get this info from a site?
Regards,

There is no such thing. Eating sensibly and moderately, avoiding overmuch red meat, dairy products and alcohol, and taking regular exercise is as good a way as any of keeping yourself healthy
Anything that claims to prevent cancer in a two-week period has got to be regarded with considerable cynicism. Cancer is not something that develops like a cold, but may take years. |

I am on such a diet and it is the Alkaline/Acid one that someone else mentioned. I am working with a Naturopathic doctor who has many 'walking miracles' around her clinic. Using blood tests results and other indicators she designed my diet around starving the cancer of the nutrients that enable it to survive, while adding supplements that keep my immune system strong and maintain my energy level and appetitie. So far the benefits just seem to increase.
I choose to believe that coupled with positive thinking etc. combined with the medical treatments this improves my quality of life and gives me an opportunity to 'live with cancer' as opposed to 'die with cancer'. It is a hard diet to adjust to but I am at the point where I have worked out a number of menus that are yummy. As a former 'gourmet cook', it took me awhile to adapt some of my favorites. Can't say I don't miss some of the things I used to eat, and when I travel now I need to pack a cooler, but in the long run I see only benefits.
The irony is when I am sitting in the waiting area of the treatment clinic I watch staff pass out treats that are not helpful for people who are as challenged healthwise as those of us with cancer. Perhaps one day we will look back on this time in medical history and be awe-struck by our lack of understanding of the role nutrition plays in this disease. Feel free to privately email me for any tips or help I can offer if you decide to follow this kind of diet program.

Hello
There is no such thing as an anti cancer diet.
If you think eating certain foods will "cure" cancer you are sadly mistaken. The best you can hope for is a reduced chance of getting cancer or perhaps a greater chance you will recover. No food can "cure " cancer and anyone who says so is either a quack making a buck out of us, or someone who doesn't really understand the true nature of cancer. Do not use the term anti cancer diet it is just ridiculous. _________________ Age 53

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion as we navigate our survival through cancer Chemoman...including you. I respect that and wish you well. I am also embracing traditional treatments, and was in no way trying to influence anyone.

there are certainly conflicting opinions about the efficiacy of anti cancer diets, but to say than none works seems a bit harsh to me
anyway there seems to be a quite good anti cancer fast out there, try and google for: sagada hospital
budwig diet is also very respected, but its not a 2 weeks thing, its more of a livestyle choice...

Diet is an incredible cornerstone of a healthy life. Our bodies want to move towards health. It is our job to learn how to get "out of their way". The 35 year China Study (book out by that name) found wiht 8,000 clients in 65 counties that literally every degenerative illness could be reversed or prevented with max 7% animal protein in the diet.
This is a very small amount and carries us towards the alkaline side of the scale. Including more raw foods is essential.
You are young and vital. Give courage and commitment to the path of learning how to care for your body in the best way possible (leave behind some of the garbage of modern civlization). It is a journey of body, mind and spirit.
I spent years working with cancer patients and diet at Gerson Cancer Therapy Instititute and Hippocrates Health Inst (wheatgrass). Each of these programs contains a lot of great principles, cleanse and rebuild the liver, cleanse the colon, help the cells restore alkaline balance.
Life force is amazing. Trust it and your own mind and heart. Know your own wellness. Clear old emotions that hamper your way.
Great recipes following these principles in my Super Immunity Secrets ebook |
Hello
More on the Budwig diet
http://www.quackometer.net/blog/2008/03/las-mariposas-clinic-costa-del-quackery.html
Hello ChemoMan
I continue to be surprised each time I see one of your posts recommending the quackometer site as a reference to good information regarding anything that deals with any type of healing protocol that does not involve drugs.
The quackometer group are affiliated with the much discredited quackbuster/quackwatch group and there is a great deal of credible information on where their funding comes from and what their true purpose is.
Dr, Stephen Barrett
http://www.canlyme.com/quackwatch.html
Dr. Terry Polovoy his Canadian Counterpoint
http://www.humanticsfoundation.com/polevoy.htm
http://www.kospublishing.com/html/quack_busters.html
It distresses me that someone in the position of power that you hold as moderator displays such a biased view on almost all things alternative.
As someone who has been returned to good health using diet, supplements and natural alternative treatment it saddens me to see information that could be helpful to others discredited just on the grounds of personal belief. |

Hi shemay
When I wrote I was not a moderator if you care to see the posted date it was early 2009. I was made moderator long after those posts.
As a moderator I have no "power". I move posts when they are inappropriately placed and I delete spam posts....that happens a lot and most of the spam has nothing to do with cancer at all. I cannot delete or ban members only admins can do this all I do is report spammers to the admins.
Stephen Barrett is a well known quack buster...it doesn't surprise me that the alt crowd attack him....it tells me he is doing a good job
Feel free to post what you like but be careful of making personal attacks on me or anyone else that disagrees with you as this is not tolerated and be careful advocating 'alternative' cures...we stress complimentary modalities here.
I agree a balanced diet with exercise and plenty of sleep together with lack of stress can reduce the chances of catching diseases of all types including cancer..... I do not believe you can cure cancer with diet alone nor can you prevent it with with diet alone. But thats my opinion, I will never convince you nor you me, so I strongly suggest you leave it alone.
I will leave you with a link that you really should take the time to read. You can even post your views to the site, I would love to see what responses you get there. Don't stop with the article read the posts after it as well
