Hi,
new to the forum.

I have an appointment with a dermatologist tomorrow morning to get this checked out, but have been having trouble sleeping worrying.

A month or so ago a small mole on my jawline became inflamed. I thought it may be an ingrown hair so I squeezed it and it hurt really bad, but now has gone away. Next to it (forward from in on my jaw) about the size of the tip of one of my fingers is a depressed area slightly discolored, kind of gray, not brown or red. It is definately a precise indented area, with what appears very very lightly further in front of it some speading of the same type of color but that is only visible from a really close distance and perfect lighting

Maybe it is fluid from when the mole was inflamed (it was there then too), or something else. If it is a fluid, is that something a doctor can fix? I don't remember seeing it there prior. The mole is really small now by the way.

Is this something I should be seriously concerned about like I am now, or not worry so much until a doctor takes a look tomorrow?

I didn't sleep at all last night.

Thanks for any input anyone here can provide,

My first visit ever to a dermatologist was to look at a swollen mole on the side of my face. This turned out to be nothing, but there were 3 spots that hadn't concerned me which turned out to be problems.

So no matter what the dermatologist finds, you're smart to get yourself checked out - good luck!
