Hi everyone,

I'm new here and i hope im in the right place.
I don't know how to start or what to say. I hope I explain myself.

My mom had a PAP came back abnormal and had a biopsy and ultrasounds because she had some cyst. A few weeks pass and went back to get the results. The cyst were gone but her uterus was large. The Dr. told her that he want to operate on her to remove her uterus. She was like OMG!! surgery No!.

He also told her that he needed to do another biopsy because there was no tissue on the last one. So she did the biopsy but it was so painful and he was not able to get any tissue, he said they needed to do this in the OR and she would need to have a Dilation & Curettage w/ Hysteroscopy also called D&C H scop.

my mom is afraid to go under General anesthesia because she has high blood pressure.

Has any one had a Dilation & Curettage w/ Hysteroscopy?
can you tell me your experience?
anything would help

Thanks

Hi mq1. I am sorry about your mother's health concerns. I do not know much about D&C's but I do have some information about surgery with high blood pressure. My father had high blood pressure and he had multiple surgeries. Your mother's surgical team will be very much aware of her blood pressure problems and will constantly be monitoring it. I cannot guarantee you that she will have no problems but if her surgical team is worth their salt, they will be able to deal with it.

Had both a couple of weeks ago. Had general anesthesia. Given the option of a 'twilight' sleep as well. Was told by two friends w/a very high tolerance for pain to not even consider it any other way. They will do it w/o anything but a painkiller and something to relax you (like a valium). However, you are under for only about 10 minutes and the anesthesiologist will monitor you very closely. They are trained to deal w/high blood pressure.
Waking up and Recuperation was no big deal. A little cramping/soreness that was fine w/several Advil
