ChemoMan: Yes, the baseball players scandals involve the use of steroids. It is a shame. These are the folks that are the "image heros" for our kids and grandkids and reflect the values of society. I am of the mind that when a player signs a professional contract, they should agree that their behavior, on and off the "field", should be just that: professional. All too often we see bad behavior such as drug use, out of control tempers, fighting and other immoral behavior. Our hockey players are like that; every game has a few brawls, which in my opinion the participants should be terminated for good. The reason: Unprofessional Conduct. When I was growing up, I remember a big "stink" when Johnny Unitas, the hero quarterback for the Baltimore Colts, decided to let his hair grow out a bit (he wore a crew cut). Parents were upset because he set the example for the kids.

Singledad: What kind of a bike do you have? Mine is a '06 Harley Super Glide. Because of my neck injury, I installed an "MT Voyager Kit", which are glorified training wheels. Last week I took them off as my strength has improved greatly. It was great to be on two wheels again; it is hard to ride with the outrigger wheels as you can't lean into the curves. I am glad to see you riding while undergoing R-CHOP at the same time...be careful!

I am starting R-CVP on the 18th. After much consternation, I decided to save the heavy stuff for later when I really may need it. After going over those Pod Casts, I concluded that too much of that "stuff that starts with a d'" in CHOP could have long term effects and also leave no options if the Indolent NHL transforms to an aggressive form.

Take care...keep in touch...Ride Safe...Don B

Gave up my dual sport ( I've always ridden intermediates ) Kawi 650KLR
http://www.motorcycledaily.com/15december02kawasakiklr650.html
as my hands were getting sore shifting and clutching ( that's all gone thanks to the CHOP-R - ) Rolling Eyes

Switched to a Honda Silverwing and just love it. Took a bit to get used to as this review notes but it can carry 4 big bags of groceries under the seat, top out at 100 mpH plus and ride dry in the rain.

http://onewheeldrive.net/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=588&Itemid=126

Amazing vehicle and $10 for a fill up for a lot of riding - the 550 just sips gas.

http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2006models/2006models-Honda-SilverWingABS-SilverWing.htm

I'll rarely take the van anywhere for the next 6 months.

No shifting or foot braking took some time to adjust to and the small wheels a bit as well.
ABS are to die for as is the storage. Very nice stadium seating for rear passenger.

If I was touring I'd likely opt for a 3rd party seat as I find after 3 hours it's a bit too stiff.
The feet forward takes getting used to.

I'm really looking forward to a PHEV version of it. Vectrix has one now
http://www.vectrix.com/
but I'll wait a couple years. Can't wait to ride at night on the back roads with an electric.

I'm careful with my energy - I make sure my loops out have a short cut back and I have no time pressures so I can bail at any point and just hang out somewhere if my energy goes.

My worst period is 4 pm to 7.30 pm - I just retire period. I can literally fall asleep at my desk.
Good energy then from 8 pm to about 2 am. ( that was my normal pattern anyway ) - sleep for about 5 hours then 7 to 2 is fine......I LOVE napping and have done it regularly all my life.

Wow, those look like some nice "scooters". I know several people who own Gold Wings and they love them. I've always like the Harleys, but to each his own.

Yeah these are big bike feel but at 500 lbs and the weight low are much more amenable around town yet will still tour.

The damn Burgman windshield is power adjust Shocked

Too many toys for me - I'm 5 9 so the Honda was perfect. The Burgman might be a bit nicer for a taller rider.
The seat back is adjustable on the Honda.

550 cc insurance is cheap too and the variable transmission gives it surprising zing.

It's the soccer van version of motorcycling.
No choke, no clutch, no foot brake, no shifting, ABS brakes, auto everything and rides dry in the rain..and holds 55 litres under the seat.

Two wheeled car with some fun attached.

Oddly the strangest thing was tossing jacket and two helmets nder the seat and walking into a restaurant or store with no gear in hand- felt weird at first.

Hi All

Well its been almost 12 months and its time for my scans and tests. Today I'm off for a CT scan then in 2 days time it will be the PET scan. The CT scan is a bit of a walk in the park but I really find the PET tedious. I picked up the bottle of contrast that I have to drink before I go in, so once I get there it should all be over in about 45 minute to an hour. The damn PET scan takes 4 hours but it is the most important of the tests. I see the Prof on the 17th to get the results. I'm pretty nervous about the whole thing, as I have had a few issues so I'm not totally confident of how it will go, but I'm staying positive and if it comes back then I will fight. I have stayed away from doing any research at this stage I will leave that and hopefully never have to go there Smile

Back soon with good news hopefully !

Best of luck. Too bad they can't mix the contrast in with Coopers!

Hi

Thanks SD and Don....hey Don I am now doing a good job of mixing the contrast with the coopers Smile

That contrast is weird stuff...... Felt like I was pooping tabasco sauce Laughing

The nurse who stuck me did the worst job ever....it hurt like buggery Sad I told him to go for the back of the hand after the torture and it went in first pop with no pain at all.....had he stuffed that up I would of asked for another nurse

Have the PET scan the day after tomorrow....

OT..... things are looking up......the GEC , Global Economic Crisis, could well be history Smile

Cheers Very Happy

Hello All

Went in for the big checkup this week and remission was confirmed by CT and PET scans. The Prof gave me the news yesterday. Best news this year by far Smile

What is the difference between arthritis medicines Mobic and Celebrex?
I take 200 mg Celebrex every day for arthritis. My RN friend says she takes Mobic 15 mg and it is the only arthritis medicine her hospital prescribes since it is safer and works better than Celebrex. I want to know why it is safer and what, if any, are the side effects?
