Thank You!
I didn't celebrate on Friday because I was hurting all over and had no energy. I was better Saturday and much better yesterday. I feel pretty good today.
my fingers feel weird as the Oxyplatinum wears away. I didn't get that drug this final treatment. They gave me something else that starts with an I (Irinotecan?). My doctor was worried about the cold and numbness becoming permanent.
I got to drink cool drinks for the first time in 6 month. It tingles but it doesn't hurt like it did. I am not ready for ice cold drinks yet.
I got my reconnect surgery 2 weeks from today. _________________ 10/01/07 - Removal of Stage III Colon Cancer Tumor and Temporary Colostomy

congrats on finishing your chemo treatments.
The numbness sucks, but it will go away soon and good luck on the reconnect surgery. |

Hey REB, make sure you keep posting and good luck with the reconnect surgery..
It does seem like we go from one hurdle to the next doesn't it?
I am in terrible pain this week from the radiation, but I keep telling myself just one more week to go. Then I will have to start thinking about my surgery for the rectal resection.

The surgery has been moved to the 29th. They want to do a colonoscopy on the 28th. I was hoping they could do both at the same time while I was knocked out.
I am sorry you are not feeling well, DulcimerGal.
I wonder how long it takes for these drugs to get out of our system and when we stop feeling the side effects? _________________ 10/01/07 - Removal of Stage III Colon Cancer Tumor and Temporary Colostomy

it usually takes about a month and a half to fully be free of the side effects and even then, there still might be some numbness/sensitivity at the finger tips. _________________ Colan Cancer Stage II victim at 19 years of age
