I just had my 6 month psa test and it came in at <.04, thank god for that. Also while I was there, I asked the GP doc to do urine anlysis because a friend of mine had small traces of blood found in his routine urine test which lead to him discovering he had a small cancer tumor in the bladder. Lucky for him, it was removed and he is now cancer free.

My urine test came back as follows:

UA Dipstick
Specific Gravity = 1.025
PH = 5.0
Blood = 2+

UA Microscopic
Red Blood Cells = 10-20
White Blood Cells = 0-5

My GP is pretty worthless and told me nothing, but I am wondering if this something that I need to see a urologist about or is having small traces of blood in the urine normal for someone who had robotic prostate surgery 6 months ago? Has anyone else here who has had prostate surgery had the same experience with microscopic blood in the urine this late after surgery?

Hi chas036,

May I suggest you try calling your surgeon's office and asking his assistant that question. Very often they are able to help. My husband did not have surgery, he had Proton Beam Therapy. But one year later had a small amount of blood in his semen. We called our doctor's office and spoke to his assistant. She confirmed that this was normal and sent us out a sheet that had post treatment questions and answers. It was very informative. I will assume your surgeon's office has something similar or can answer your question. Either way, I think your surgeon should be informed of your concerns and able to guide you. Hope this helps.

Beth
