Hello everyone and my best wishes to you and yours.

I have been reading through the site for a while now and it has given me a lot of strength.

My dad was diagnosed with lung cancer, stage 3a, last August- 2008. He has recently completed 2 weeks of radiotherapy after courses of chemo over a couple of months, which were by drip then by tablet.

When he was diagnosed, apart from the lung, there were cancer signs in the chest wall and lymph nodes at lung.

He is 70 and an ex smoker (heavy) although not for the past 20 years. He sucessfully appeared to beat bladder cancer which has not reappeared in 2 years after a 10 year battle against that.

Now that this stage of treatment is complete, he is tired with no appetite and is dehydrated. He is now waiting for his next scan.

I want to give him what support I can, although I live many miles away from him but I have managed to see him every 3/4 weeks or so.

Take care everyone! Kenny

Wecome to the forum Kenny
I am so very sorry to hear of yr Dad's LC diagnosis. He has been down this road before with his bladder cancer...it's so unfair that he's been afflicted again with Cancer. My prayers & thoughts are with you.
May I suggest you post "his story" in detail on the LC thread, this way you will be supported by members who have relevant experience (survivors & their carers), plus it's always therapeutic to write your concerns & questions down about your Dad.
This community has been an invaluable support & comfort to me since my Bro's diagnosis in 07.
Thinking of you.
Angie.

Welcome Kenny-

It's a sad reason, but good to see you here. There is alot of help and support here, it's what has got many of us throught these dark times.

I hope things look up for you. Keep us up-date on your Dad's progress- Maybe even post on the Lung Thread, if you haven'tdone so already.
