Recently diagnosed with PC, female 41.

I was scheduled for surgery next week, but my gut said no.

I want quality time instead of quantity, and the surgery just sounded too draining. For the most part, I still feel pretty good.

Just wondering if there are others out there who simply rode it out....?

Vtech, I am very sorry about your Pancreatic Cancer. PC is one of the most aggressive cancer there is. In addition, it can be one of the hardest cancer in terms of quality of life. I have made a similar decision about my brain cancer; if it returns I think I will opt for no treatment. Therefore, I totally understand you decision. I do hope that you have made it with consultation with your medical team. Untreated PC can be very... unpleasant. But even with aggressive treatment the prognosis is not very good. I do know of some patients who have lived for a couple of years was aggressive treatment. They did have bad times and good times. Freeio died last fall. His story is at http://cancerforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=6939 . You might also want to check out his blog. The link to it is in his topic.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
