I started CHOP therapy on Monday. I am pretty clear on many of the possible side effects: hair loss, increased risk of infections, nausea, etc.

I am wondering if anyone knows from experience when I may begin to see side effects? Is it common, for instance, to feel extreme nausea a few days after the first treatment, or does that usually come later; when does the hair normally fall out; how soon would I expect mouth sores to appear?

I have plenty of information from my doctor, but am wanting real-life info from others who have gone through it.

Thanks

Don't worry about it. You may only feel like you have a bad case of the flu. I had two years of chemo and my hair never came out until I had a stem cell transplant. I never got any month sores or anything. I did have severe constipation though but there are all sort of laxatives out there. Oh yes you might get nauseated but probably just during treatment but don't worry about that either because there are all sorts of nausea medicine out there also.
