This is my first post, so be gentle with me...

I was recently diagnosed with NHL. I have a particular flavor called ALK-negative. I have been trying to Google information about this, but only get clinical study papers or scientific journals.

Does anyone know where I can read specific information about ALK- NHL in layman's terms?

I know that the prognosis for Alk- is not as promising as ALK+ and that my treatment is going to include some Medieval torture-sounding components... but that's about all I can find. I am not going to see my oncologist for a few days (when I begin treatment), and want to read up a bit between now & then. I'm sure he'll be a wealth of info; but I am impatient.

So... anyone have any recommendations; personal experience?

Hi robieusa. I am very sorry about your cancer. When I am trying to learn about a type of cancer, I usually start with the National Cancer Institute at http://www.cancer.gov/ . Just enter the type of cancer in the search box on that site. You might also want to do a search of this site. Maybe someone else has already posted about that cancer subtype.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us informed.
