Hi there. I hope you all don't mind me posting here. I am 29 years old and was diagnosed over 2 years ago with stage 3c Ovarian Cancer. I have been on and off chemo for almost that entire time and will be starting a new treatment this month. I am posting here because I will be trying the drug Avastin and I know that it is currently used for colon cancer. I will be taking it off label in the hopes that I can buy myself some more time. My question is what kinds of side effects have people expierenced with this drug? It is so scary reading what *can* happen and the more I read about it, the more I'm tempted to cancel the whole thing! Any advice you can pass along would be much appreciated...
Thanks,
Becky |

Hi Becky, I very sorry to hear about your ovarian cancer. I understand why you are posting to the Colon Cancer Forum. However, you might also want to post to the Ovarian Cancer Forum.
I do not know anything about Avastin. I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about and praying for you as you make this difficult decision. _________________ Jim

| I was on avastin for 15 cycles. The only side effect I could tie to the avastin was a few ugly headaches. Other than that I was fine. |

My ex husband had Avastin for 15 cycles and he had sores in his mouth and up his nose. a tingling very sensitive tongue and nausea for most of the time between cycles but it did seem to have some impact on the cancer growth. Hope this helps
