Hello all,
I'm Luciana from Brazil. Just last night I spent many hours on the web trying to find out more about my mum's disease, and I got to Cancer Forums. Here I am, just the morning after, already writing my first post.
It's great to know forums as this one exists... I feel relieved, hope was failing me till I got here and read so many stories. I already feel like I know some of you...
Thanks for the initiative! Smile
May God be in your hearts,
Luciana

ok, ok, I'll resist the temptation of making Jim practice his abilities in portuguese... Very Happy

Thanks Jim and Inica, I really mean it when I say it helped me A LOT finding this forum. But I guess you know it by experience... Wink

Yeah, Jim, I can see you and mum share some things! Actually your story was one that caught my attention, I read it all in one single breath, and congratulations! You are truly a brave man!

Everything is really new to me, mum, the whole family. We'll be coming a lot to this forum I guess...

Lu

Lu, I am not that courageous... I am afraid of death Wink... I keep "running away" from it Very Happy.

I grew up in Tupa, Sao Paulo after living for several years in Rio (Tijuca) but that was a very long time ago. I was born in the US but arrived in Brazil shortly before my first birthday and lived there until I was 18 years old. The two of us are not the only "Brazilians" here. The person who actually owns the forum, Dr. Leo, studied medicine at the University of Parana.

I am glad to say that the CancerForums has active members from all over the world. I wish we could be even bigger because the need is so real.
