Hi. A few days ago I noticed that my left leg near my shin felt bruised. It does not look bruised but there is a swelling/lump there. Although I couldn't remember banging my shin I wasn't all that worried about it and figured it would go away. Well it is still there and seems to be getting worse and I have just noticed that I also have a small lump on my left arm just below my elbow. Could these lumps be related? Any idea what could cause this? Thanks for any help.

inkworks,

I'm sorry for your worry about your health. It could be alot of things, Not necessary Cancer. If you are truely concern then have it looked at by your DR, or Skin specialist. This is what I would recommend.

Alot of things can cause bumps and lumps. Ingrown hairs, Insect bites spider etc,. Elbows/arms and legs are a area that is commen for ingrown hairs etc.and can ulcerate- Honestly, I don't think this is that- but just wanted to point it out- it could be many things....And not always the worse thing.

I think it is great you are looking after your body and are worried about any "abnormal" changes etc. See your DR and let us know.

Thanks Inn. The lumps are actually underneath my skin so I don't think it could be an ingrown hair or an insect bite. I am just back from my GP. He thinks it could be enlarged lymph nodes or a cyst. He told me just to keep an eye on them at the moment and go back in a month if they are still there or if any more pop up. I just find it strange that I have two painful lumps on seperate parts of my body. I also didn't think that these areas would be where I would get enlarged lymph nodes.

Do you think it's likely that these lumps are related?

Good to see you saw a DR- guess now its just a wait.

Just so you know- ingrown hairs Are, under the skin. BUT they usually get close to the skin and lift out...or they turn cyst like and even pus filled...

If your not happy, the see another Dr, get onto it straight away. they can do a needle biopsy, if needed.

Anyway- hope all will be good- let us know how things go.

Why can't they biopsy the lumps?
