hi everyone, my husband 64 years of age was just recently diagnosed with hodgkin's nodular sclerosis. they think it's confined to the left side of neck from his previous ct scans. however they will doing a pet scan on wednesday. he will get the muga test on tuesday and also the pft's. this all came about by accident when he was being examined before an operation to have a rectal polyp removed.( this was tested and it came back benign). thank goodness or otherwise it would have went undetected to who knows when. his therapy will be 2 cycles of abvd. then pet scan again and if all is clear another 2 cycles. my question is that my husband thinks he can drive himself to and from his chemo treatments. is this possible?

Hi Gayle,

I'm glad you found this forum, and i hope it helps answer some of your questions. I myself haven't had Chemo- But from a few friends and advice here, I would say that it's not the best idea to drive yourself. Especialy after a treatment. I had friends who had no problem after the first and even second treatment then, BAM it hit. They were sick or dizzy or just would have a spell or too. (other friends were too sick straight away to even think of driving, other ones were ok through the whole lot.- but still didn't risk it).

Is there some reason he has to drive? Are you able to? Or someone else? If he, as most men Wink , are being stuborn about it, Call his DR and get them to talk to him, especially the risk and danger to others.

Hope this helps.
