I am a 34 yr old female. I have smoked a pack a day for 15 years. I have also had a drug problem - smoked marajuana every day for the last 3 years.
I went to the emergency room a week ago because I felt like I was having trouble breathing. They told me I was had an upper respitory infection and took an x-ray of my chest.
When my family doctor got my x-ray he determined I had nodules (or a nodule, he didn't specify. He sent me back to the hospital for a cat scan which I had this evening.
Does this sound like cancer? Is there anything else that it could be?

Hello

Lung nodules are somewhat common, and the majority are not cancer. But you definitely need to have this checked, as you are already doing.

best regards,
