WHY ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT FOR CANCER

1. Why are twice as many Americans dying from cancer today (560,000) than there were in 1962 (278,000)?
2. Why are we still being prescribed surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatment after nearly 5 decades of failure?
3. Why the systematic suppression of all natural or inexpensive alternative cancer treatments?
4. Why does the Federal Drug Administration, (FDA) National Cancer Institute, (NCI) American Cancer Society, (ACS) and American Medical Association (AMA) never properly investigate, but instead suppress, the most promising alternative treatments?
5. With over a trillion dollars poured into research and treatment of cancer in the last forty years, why does the cancer establishment never change it's course of only investigating man-made patentable treatments?
6. Why is chemotherapy, a highly toxic, carcinogenic and immune system wrecking chemical, still being given to at least 700,000 American cancer patients a year?
7. Why do Americans have to leave their country to try many promising alternative cancer treatments?
8. Why are we allowing the FDA, an agency with an unbroken history of rampant corruption and incompetence, to dictate to us what medical options we are permitted to take? Why are they always patented, pharmaceutical companies products?

I have problems accepting all of yao wang's statements to face value soley because he has not sited primary sources for any of them. Some are at best over simplifications... some at least sound downright paranoid a la "Conspiracy Theory." Maybe the number of cancer patients has doubled because our population has almost tripled. I do not agree the the organizations listed in item #4 have attempted to suppress any promising alternative treatment. Read my thread about my experience in the field of research... I know that many (at least 70% in the late 70's according to my professors at Ohio State University) come from natural sources. What these organization have done is become more demanding of proof of safety and effectiveness before claims of medicinal value are made. Anyhow, I could raise questions about all of these claims.

More people aren't dying of cancer. It's just being caught more.

Cancer cannot be caught. It is not an infection. More people are developing cancers, but then there is better diagnosis and people are living longer.

I totally agree with Vee. People are, knowing what they are dying from these days. Better diagnosis, better technology, better testing and labs.

And people are living longer. Definatly not something you can catch. ( i was never good at playing catch, other than catch and kiss. Laughing

)

Guys, in Harry's defence, I do think you are misunderstanding him. He is using "caught" in the place of "diagnose." We are much better at detecting/diagnosing/catching cancers now than we were back in 1960. Very Happy

Sorry for the grammatical confusion. Thanks brainman, that's exactly what I meant. Cancer is better detected today than it was in the past.
