Hi everyone, I posted a while back asking for help appealing the insurance company to help get my Dad treatment at City of Hope. Blue Cross/Blue Shield is denying to treat him with Helical Tomotherapy in part because it is still "new" and considered experimental. He is seeing Doctors at City of Hope in the Los Angeles area and it is I believe the only type of radiation they use to treat their patients. We found out from the hospital that most of the other patients being treated have either Medi-Cal or Aetna and they are covering it. My father is only 56, so I guess is not yet eligible to apply for Medi-Cal.

What we are now searching for is research proving that Helical Tomotherapy does work for our next appeal. If there is anyone out there that has used this treatment or knows of any research about it please let me know. You can also e-mail me at bandittsdaisy@yahoo.com
