Leo, or other professional:
Hello, it took me a while to find my password. The question is this: I had a test report to come back with a suggestion from the lab technoligist to have the blood tested for determination of whether the results were caused by lymphoproliferative disease or reactive lymphocytes. I did not know that this was suggested nor did the doctor mention it prior to my requesting a copy of the results. I was being treated at the time for a peptic ulcer. I asked the primary doctor about the suggestion and she told me that this was an expected result due to the ulcer. Should I press this issue further, since the ulcer was healing nicely when last checked? I did not have the H.Pylori bacterium when the ulcer was discovered. I suspect a problem due to excessive bleeding gums, easy bruising on skin and the inability to get my ferritin level up and to get my iron up even after two pints of packed RBC's. I am by the way post menopause by 4 years this month. I don't know how to communicate my concerns without sounding like a hypochondriac. Can you make suggestions. Thanks

Hi merianne,

I am not one of the "professionals" but I would say "Yes, ask your primary doctor for clarification." She/He knows more specifics about your case than anyone else. I do not know what the technologist meant with his/her suggestions. However, I do know that they often make sideline suggestions based on test results. Every time I have an MRI it is noted that I have a terrible sinus problem... nothing at all related to my cancer. It sounds like in your case there might be a relationship. But the only one who can really tell you is your own doctor. Best wishes.
