Hi to all...I have just returned from the Gold coast where my Brother has undergone debulking of his tumour on Tues 8/5/07. He was told last week after collapsing at home & not being able to support himself on his left leg that if he didn't have the surgery he had at best only 2 weeks to live. His tumour has grown so aggressively that even his surgeon was surprised! There was no scar or dead tissue to be seen, which we assume means the radiotherapy & chemo haven't even touched the tumour. The surgeon was also hoping to find the centre of tumour dead but still alive & active, unfortunately. The surgery was 5hrs long with many risks as you would all know. Mark was making wise cracks upon his return to recovery. He has a fantastic sense of humour...it keeps us all going. Since then he has lost all feeling on his left side, but surgeon is hopeful Mark will get feeling back as he recovers. Physio came today & got him out of bed into a chair. Mark was exhausted after this. Chemo restarting in the next couple of days & radiotherapy when wound is healed. Mark was hoping to get some quality time after this surgery so he and his wife & family could go on a holiday. Dr says today he has no idea how long Mark will be in hospital recuperating? Please keep your prayers & support coming. Thanks all for reading & listening. Cheers, Angie.

Angie, I am so sorry to hear that your brother's cancer is growing so out of control! GBM grade IV is such a hard cancer to treat. Of course, I have no way of predicting what your brother's future might be like, so I encourage you to help him enjoy each day. Try to help him find a little "vacation" in every day. I assure you that you and Mark are in my thoughts and prayers every day.
