I am being given oxaliplatin every 3 weeks for my secondary cancer in the liver and para-aortic node - original cancer was in the bowel.

In spite of the oncologist reducing the dose to 60% of the usual I am still suffering from severe peripheral neuropathy which goes on for about a fortnight of each cycle. It's so bad that I am finding cooking difficult. Today for example I got electric type shocks just from handling vegetables and from the knife I was slicing them with. I can't wear gloves to do all tasks. In the past few days I have also been losing the feeling in my feet and driving is getting difficult too. Any suggestions for how to cope from anyone?

Also does anyone have severe insomnia? My sleep patterns are getting terrible. I am only averaging about 4 to 5 hours a night, waking up every hour and not getting into a deep sleep at all. I feel as if I have been awake even when I have been sleeping.

I am on cetuximab weekly, capecitabine daily for a fortnight and oxaliplatin every three weeks.
