I have some of the symptoms,
fever, chills, fatigue, itchiness
but no swollen glands. I have been examined by
a doctor who felt my glands in my neck and chest and armpits
and groin and found no swelling.

But I am still skeptical.
any advice?

Hi there, have you had any tests done, such as a ct scan or anything? If not, i would suggest getting that done to see if you have any enlarged lymphnodes in your body that can't be felt. good luck with everything.

Check out the post on "great resources for lymphoma patients" and do some of your own research on the internet on lymphoma and take it to your doctor, just because you do not have swollen lymphnodes that you can see does not mean they are not there. Look up the diagram of the lymphatic system. My daughters was a large mass in her chest pressing on her lung and on her heart. She was stage 4a when we found it. Keep persisting until you get an anwer you are satisfied with. Hodgkins can be difficult to diagnose. I think we just got lucky or at least God was watching out for her.

Best of luck and please post and let us know how you are doing.

Tavares:
A modern mainstream doctor cannot diagnose illness by touch! I would request at the very least a complete blood panel; anemia is one sign that something is off and may account for simple fatigue. My oncologist told me that a simple blood screen for copper levels could have easily detected the severity of my illness. X-rays are another commonly used tool for cancer detection. It is a frightening thing to realize that many doctors have roughly 5-10 minutes for each appointment. What happens in that time can save your life (or take it from you).

Just because a doctor is a doctor does not mean he/she is superhuman. If your doctor refuses a simple blood panel, find a new doctor that will listen to you and your concerns. You are paying her/him; not the other way around.
Best

you're sooooo right!! The thing is many doctors are dismissive of early/diffuse symptoms when that's the time to really know IF there's something wrong. And, yes, this may make the difference between life and death.
Lymph nodes do NOt have to be the size of an orange to make doctors order exams, WE pay for them and we pay doctors handsomely!
I'm here praying to be dismissed as a hypocondriac, I'm praying for it to be true, that there's nothing wrong with me although I have almost all the symptoms.
