I post this because the estimated rate of Peyronies Disease in the male population is 5%. It is known to be higher among radical prostatectomy patients for reasons that are not real clear. This condition manifests by loss of length and girth, bend or other deformity or the penis. It may or may not be accompanied by pain.

The condition results from scar tissue in the tunica that causes a loss of elasticity much like putting a piece of scotch tape on a balloon and then blowing it up. The balloon cannot expand where the tape (scar tissue) is and bends in that direction. This condition can progress to the point of preventing intercourse and it exacerbates ED. In fact it is like a wound healing process gone awry and the scar tissue can progress throughout the penis. The result can be devastating to men, their partners, and family dynamics.

Please be aware of this condition and notice the first symptoms when the condition is most likely to respond to the less than reliable treatments that are available. There is no cure, only treatments.

A good site for more information is www.PeyroniesSociety.org
It offers education, support, and patient interaction with men that are facing the challange. There is a private forum for women who are effected by this or other sexually limiting condition that may be causing a breakdown in communication.

Hopefully you will never need this site.
