My father finished his radiation (external ) therapy two weeks ago. Can anyone tell me their experience (ie side effects) after treatment? When can he feel like himself again? thanks

Hi pizarro,

It's different for everyone, but generally he should expect some bowel problems, such as diarrhea or burning sensations, as well as urinary burning. These are usually temporary and should clear up over time, although, again, all men are different and it's not uncommon for some to experience permanent problems. These symptoms can generally be alleviated somewhat by over the counter medications.
