My Mom was diagnosed with lung cancer last week and I do not know what kind it is. they say now that she has it in her femur. But the bone scan she had three weeks ago was clear does this mean it is spreading rapidly or did they miss it . she has not been treated yet and is currently in the hospital because her lung has filled with fluid. I am scared for her and would like to know how to keep her spirits up.

My heart goes out to you. I recently found out that my aunt who I consider my mom had been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. It started in her lung and spread to her brain. The doctor are giving her 4 months to live.

I have been in several sites and it appears the 4 month is the norm. It has been so hard on me that I can't even compose myself in public. I keep breaking down.

All i can say is give her the best quality of life that you can give her. Spend as much time with her. Brush her hair give her massages. Make her life special.
