Mom is 84 with stage 4 lung cancer. We are having problems with impared cough function and phlem. Despite nebulizer treatments with acetylcystiene & duoneb accompanied by oral guaifenesin syrup (robitussin) we are still having trouble keeping her air way open and clean. Does anyone have any suggestions?
The cancer has not spread to any organs (other than her left lung) so we are trying to avoid starting hospice. She is a young 84 but this is taking it's toll. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
