I was wrong about my theory regarding the port. It is not infected.

Six days after the chemo my temperature went up to 102.2 and the next day my WBC went down to 1.1. So it just my body's reaction to the particular drugs that I took. My doc did give me Neulastra the day after the chemo and next time will also give me some antibiotics just to be sure.

Not everyone has a reaction like this, but you watch for changes around your first nadir and see how your counts are.
