Thank you for the response. I am definitely trying to keep on top of things. I'm so protective of family. I was unnerved by how my mother was treated in the hospital during the brain surgery. The neurosurgeon was amazing, but some of the nurses and assistants treated her like a number, not a person. I had a few words with a few people to say the least. The place she is going for her chemo is world-renowned and so far, they've treated her wonderfully. My mother had bad reactions to the anti-convulsants as well. She took Dilantin and then switched to another one I can't remember the name of. Anyway, she broke out in a rash all over her body and she was also quite lethargic. She has recuperated from the brain surgery and now feels like she's on top of the world. She has more energy than ever because for the past several months, the lesion in her brain affected every aspect of her life. She has much relief now that they've removed that. They are recommending that she not have the radiation on the brain, but rather start the chemo first. I guess a panel of doctors came to that decision. I'm hoping that because she is so young and strong, she will respond well to the treatments. I pray every day and I feel God's strength. I truly do.

I'm glad you posted here because you're right, it feels comforting to know you are not alone. Whatever path we end up, we're still not alone. Know that. You, your mother, and your father are in my thoughts. Hang in there.

Margie,
My parents were also in the hospital in January at the same time. Thank goodness I have a sister. I have 3 brothers but you probably already know how that goes. I hope you have someone to lean on and rely on to help you. If it wasnt for my sister I dont know what I would do.
