Hi all, wondering if someone there can help. I had swelling of nodes on the left side of my neck for 2 years, which I ignored. One putting them down to my stresful job and two just thinking they would go away. I went to my GP about 6 months ago he put it down to being run down (I am always ill) then about three months ago I went again to him, sick again. He refered me to a Consultant Otolaryngoloist, after examination and bloods I returned to my Consultant (who is on holiday) and saw another Doctor, who was not very open to talking about much at all, but did his job regardless. My white bloods are high (was all I really got) and he has now made an appointment for an ultrasound on the area, before arranging a biopsy. I just wanted to know is this normal? Does a diagnosis take very long? Feel very confused about what is going on Confused So if anyone can help - feel free.

Hello

Usually the only way to obtain a definitive diagnosis of a persistently enlarged lymphnode is to get a biopsy. This is done fairly rapidly.
