my friend just went through stem cell transplant and when i saw her today i noticed that her eyes roll...it wasn't like that before on just chemo. is this something that will go away? and is it normal? also before her transplant the docs said that she has bells palsay or some such due to the fact that the right side of her mouth droops will that always be or can that be normal again? i just want to no and i dont want to make her self concious by asking her. thanks so much and to those of you who are goin through this god bless you[/quote]

Hello

Certain chemotherapy drugs can cause neurologic problems. That includes affecting the nerves to the eyes. Also, if people get really sick, they may become delirious and have mental status changes, so they can have their eyes roll back.

I went through BMT w/ stem cell recovery just this april but I don't remember my eyes roll, but I probably did experience that except I couldn't recall. The chemo was the most intense treatment I ever had. I also experienced memory loss, but only for half a day.
