I am new here and just had an MRI and am a little nervous. I have psoriasis and was on three drugs that have raised my rate of getting lymphoma drasticly. I recently felt my lymph nodes and they were too small to do anything about but in a matter of two weeks they grew from too small to 12mm and 8 mm respectively according to the MRI and are presumably active. I have several others that are smaller and reactive. I wake up every night stinking from sweat even though my house is 63 degrees. I have been on three antibiotics and an antiviral drug that have done nothing to resolve the problem. My dr has decided to send me to the ENT, what should I expect next? _________________ God is good all the time |

All the time God is good.
Hi Tresa,
I don't know a darn thing about this, but it makes me nervous for you and me! Have you stopped the psoriasis meds? I also have bad skin issues, but haven't done anything about them after hearing all the side-effects on the commercials.
Please post this same info in the lymphoma forum too. There are many knowledgeable people there who will help answer your questions -- if they can.
God bless and I hope this gets sorted out soon for you.

I am sorry about your skin issues and yes I have stopped all the drugs but unfortunately they did not tell me about the possibilities of lymphoma and I took these drugs 5 and 6 years ago. My skin has been in remission for about two years now, why? God! Thank you for pointing me to the lymphoma board and I will be praying for your husband! _________________ God is good all the time |

Tresa,
Congrats on the cessation of your skin problems, but I hope the other will be okay too. I don't know if I can take much more of mine, but don't know of anything without side effects and I'm on too many meds as it is.
Thanks for the prayers. He's gone 2 years today, so God is handling him with his infinite love now.
Hugs,

Hi tresa
Sorry to hear of your troubling symptoms. The fact you have psoriasis increases your chance of getting lymphoma but don't let this worry you as although this sounds dramatic, lymphoma is rare. The first thing you need to realize is that most cases of enlarged nodes are caused by conditions other than cancer and there are over 300 causes of enlarged nodes. By far the most common causes is infection.
The only way to get a positive and definite diagnosis for lymphoma is by an excisional biopsy. normal course of action is to wait and watch for a while, to see if the nodes shrink again. Any further tests are not warranted the only thing which will be definitive is, as I said before, an excisional biopsy.
Don't panic the even if the worst comes to be, lymphoma is one of the most successfully treated cancers and even people in late stage disease have a very very good chance of recovery.
I will get an Admin to move this thread to the lymphoma board and you will meet all the regulars there. We have a bunch of nice people who will try to help as much as they can.
Good luck with the doctors visit and let us know how you go. _________________ Age 52
