I had a swollen posterior cervical lymphnode for at least one year, was put on antibiotics and there were no changes. I also have swollen lymphnodes behind my ear, under my chin and under my armpit, all of these on my left side. OS decided to surgically remove cervical lymphnode and test for lymphoma. Results came back as a reactive lymphnode. I cannot accept this surprisigly because I honestly believe I have lymphoma or at least something. I don't understand why I would have that many swollen and they all be reactive and have the symptoms I have. My symptoms are:
- a wave of heat that comes over my face and neck, I feel like I am on fire but do not have a fever. This is a daily occurance.
- extremley tired, to the point where I don't even want to eat or shower at night.
- the bones in my legs hurt, when I got a pedicure the other day it hurt extremley bad and was very uncomfortable when the lady was massaging my legs with lotion.
- two occasions I had petechiae on the palms of my hands
-after drinking alcohol my lymphnodes under both arms became very swollen and hurt to the point where it was painful to put on deoderant
-lower back pain, very achy
- I sweat ALL night
-my legs itch constantly, I also have a tingling feeling in my feet
-when I am laying down I sometimes have a persistant cough
I am very worried about this, I'm practically driving myself crazy, and was hoping someone could help me out. Is it possible for the pathologist to have over looked the cancer? I know there is something wrong with me, I just don't feel normal. I would appreciate any comments. Thanks for reading! God Bless. |

HI
did you try to ask a doctor for a general full exam, like x ray full blood test like a ct scan, staff like that. if your medicare cart cover all ask for annual check up if not go to any private hospital or clinic and do all the test you want.
ask your doctor to check for your thyroid hormones function if they are fine or not.

Hi uga09
So sorry these troubling symptoms are bothering you. The first thing to do is calm down take a deep breathe and relax. Rule number 1 is don't panic and rule 2 is don't forget rule 1. As worrying as your symptoms are they do not prove you have lymphoma and most cases of enlarged nodes are caused by infections.
You need to get a biopsy again on the nodes. I had an excisional biopsy with the same results, reactive nodes, but I did have lymphoma. Another biopsy a few months later confirmed what I suspected all along, but after the chemo I was fine and I am still in remission hence the no panic rule
Write all your symptoms down and also write any questions you might want to ask so when you go to the doctor again you won't forget anything. Don't let up until you feel satisfied that you are safe and if necessary see another doctor.
At this point in time I can offer no more advice to you, its up to you. If by chance you do have lymphoma then remember we are always here to help.

Thank you guys for the replies, it truly means alot to me. I have an app. to go back to the doctor to have other tests run. It is just very hard to know that there is something wrong because I don't feel normal and have no idea what it is. I will keep you posted. Thanks for your support. |
