Can anyone give me a play-by-play of what it is like to undergo the R-CHOP regimen for the first time? Like you sit in a chair and your blood pressure is taken, you are hooked up to an IV bag, etc etc.

Thanks!
John

Yep! You pretty much hit the nail on the head. Bring a good book, some crossword puzzles, iPod, lunch, snacks, drinks, etc. It is pretty boring.

In my case you get a vitals check and question sheet that tracks general well being on scale of 1-10 - maybe 30 questions....
This will repeat each time....

THe chemo is based specifically on your weight so that's one reason for the vitals each time and it's prepped after that check in with the team. There is a short wait while that occurs.

Actual chair time is usually 3-4 hours and chemo may make you sleepy so you need a drive to and from.

First time will be slower as they make sure there is no allergic reaction.

For me toughest is getting the damn infusion in - so stay warm if you have deep veins.

You can track the blow by blow for me here

Side effects vary and may change over the treatment period.

Watch the steroids..... Shocked Shocked Shocked Wink

I split mine over 4 hours to avoid the huge bounce....

Feel free to ask questions...
