Thanks you bet Mr. Green

Lots of energy

Taste is recovering, oddly more sensitive to smell which I guess makes sense as taste and smell are intertwined

Skin and mouth still a bit sensitive to heat and things like the mouth rinses - burns a bit - inside of my mouth feels different - thicker as if the lining is rebuilding.

Pigged out on Japanese buffet and could feel it then - thought I had eaten something too hot ( you know you get a water blister from a hot pizza mouthful ) but not the case....must be lining regenerating which is why my cough is way way down.....only a couple times a day and then minor....

Each day improvement tho and flexibility and no cramping is a treat....tiny bit left around my neck but I can stretch fully for the first time in months ( perhaps since the second chemo - first chemo I actually felt terrific once the direct side effects wore off.....steroid buzz etc.

All in all - cannot complain....might even come out of this healthier than going in if the RA symptoms stay away.

I'm prone to mouth sores, and several things in R-CHOP are supposed to give them to you, and yet I never had them. My feeling is that this is because the only thing I was drinking (when I could drink) was water. I've noticed that anything the least bit acidic, washed down with water, makes the chances of my getting mouth sores much less.

Mine are almost gone- always felt and tasted as if I was oozing salt from the corners of my mouth.

My taste buds were pretty messed up tho not my appetite.

Appetite pretty normal now - and taste returning to normal.....

Have to be careful as I build up some energy and then overdo it and it takes a couple of days to recoup. A rainy lazy day today and yesterday and the Open on Sunday made for vacation mode.....lots of snoozing.

I'm going into second Intrathecal tomorrow of 4 - one a week - had no side effects I could detect and no headache so much more sanguine about this.....

Then 17 rounds of radiation which simply will be annoying due to the time wasted going in - waiting around etc....

Then next check up in October.... would be a nice birthday present to have the remission confirmed.

Mr. Green

2 rounds of intrathecal down.....was no where near as bad as I anticipated and zero side effects...finally worked out a timing that does not wreck my day for the last two.

•••

Hair growing back - likely need to be shaving regularly now and a thin fuzz on top.

Tastes definitely coming back to normal....really enjoying coffee again..treating myself to a new espresso machine Mr. Green

http://www.singleserveespresso.com/archives/2006/10/review_delonghi_ec_155_espress.php

Energy still a bit iffy but tons of Tstorms and a long rain conspired to make me want to just curl up with a book.....so I did... Wink

Funny I have to remember I'm not so weak anymore and can lift stuff...been getting kids and staff to do it.....hard habit to break.

If I do too much tho I can feel some of the side effects re-emerge ( the cough noticeably ) so I'm not close to 100% yet and digestive system is still sensitive....no spicey food yet.....my kids home made pizza triumph was not fun....dutiful dad had to eat a piece tho.... Rolling Eyes

Energy levels are uneven tho, sometimes feel restless and bored but then start to do something and run out of mental oomph to finish it...

Bed now - yawning like crazy.....be well all...

Progressing

Good energy ( 300 mile mcycle ride yesterday Shocked )
Hair returning
Digestion just a bit uncertain still
Cough 99% gone - only get it when I am tired.

only odd thing are some bumps on my skin in strange spots - not a rash - almost like a sun reaction given their location but my face is sunburned and no reaction there... Question Question

Forearms inside and out yet nothing on the back of my hands or on my legs

Inside my shirt collar at the front...just a tad itchy there

anyone else had post chemo skin issues??

Good to hear that you are able to take a 300 mile trip on your mcycle Very Happy.

I was told to stay totally out of the sun for a while following my chemo but I think it was more because of an increased danger of skin burns. It is not a rash???

Does not appear as a rash - more like little bumps of something whiteish under the skin although on my inner forearm it does look like a rash....as well as some of the "bumps".

Looking it up sounds like Milia

http://www.dermadoctor.com/article_Milia_56.html

Bet it's related to losing my hair and now it is trying to come back again and the general changes in skin that occur with chemo.

Lots of scrubbing with the loufa sounds like the solution

Hi SD

Great to hear you are doing so well Very Happy RE the rash brainman could be onto something as you should avoid sunlight. If it concerns you or it gets worse ask the docotor next time you see him. It might be prudent to cover up when outside just in case.

It's clearly the sun - did not realize I was sunburned until I got in the hot tub - ouch. My shins stung

Normal skin is reacting fine to the sunburn but some areas are not - hence the bumps.

"bumps on skin following sun exposure
bumps on skin following sun exposure. tnander. Mar 14 2009 14:44 ... and now i have little bumps on them. >>>> They itch a little bit and don' have any color to ..."<<<<<<<

Realized the long ride yesterday was mostly in shorts and shirt with open collar and my sleeves rolled up.

I was on the go for 12 hours......10 of which were in the sun including wandering around a beach area for an hour....

Wellllll, not just the sun, a couple of "patches" were not exposed so now Im leaning to post chemo - hair regrowth - skin regeneration issues and exacerbated by the sun in some areas.

Likely why others were warned against sun exposure... Crying or Very sad

Yeah, they really should have warned you. They could have saver you a lot of worry. Are the "bumps" full of fluid? If so, you have a 2nd degree sunburn. Ouch. Confused

I think I have a mix of things going on -i's not sore enough to be a severe sun burn - I think it's just a combo of hair follicles regrowing, skin cells regrowing and some sun effects.....

http://www.cancerpage.com/centers/Sideeffects/skin.asp

The white bumps are Milia - the rest just various skin abuse and sun

Oh well - the hair on my head is now at least a visible fuzz Mr. Green
