I've had this hard lump under my ear for about 3 months now. Its growing and now it's about 3 cm long and 2 1/2 cm wide. It's not painful and I believe it's a lymph node. It's really hard- bone hard and it's stuck to something inside of my neck, I can barely move it. My daughter has been extremely sick for the past several months and so I basically put myself on the back burner. Now I'm realizing that wasnt smart. Over the last month I have started having night sweats almost every night. I'm exhausted and I have lost 10 lbs in the last month and a half or two (I'm barely 100 lbs now). I've been having headaches, although they are gradually getting worse and more frequent. Not sure If I have been having fevers I dont dare to check my temp- this will worry me even more than I already am, though I do feel really warm a lot. When I started feeling crummy about two months ago I was also getting mild chest pain and that hasnt stopped. I have had a cold for the last couple of weeks and my chest pain is pretty bad now, I'm not sure if it's from my cold or from whatever else is going on. I just ache all over and I'm really shaky now and I get light headed easily. I go to the doctor tomorrow so hopefully she'll look into whatever is going on. When my daughter was sick they thought that she might have leukemia or lymphoma, so I do know the symptoms and I am a little worried about lymphoma. My dad just told me that his doctor thinks he has lymphoma due to a lump in his neck and under his arm. They're running tests now. Should I be worried? Have any of you dealt with these symptoms? Thanks for reading.

Hi brandijean1982

Sorry to hear of your worrying symptoms.

First off try not to worry. It is common for people to post here with symptoms like yours in fact since december 07 we have had 80 people post, 76 of them did not have lymphoma, 3 had other conditions which were not cancer and only one had a positive for lymphoma. This tells you 2 things 1. Lymphoma rarely causes the symptoms you have and 2. Lymphoma is rare. Most cases of enlaged nodes are due to infection.

I know its hard not to let this get the better of you, I have been in the same boat. By all means get this checked out by your doctor but in the meantime stay away from internet sites, trying to diagnose yourself. All this will do is worry you even more. Your doctor will know how to proceed.

Sorry I could not be of more help, but I am not a doctor and your questions can only be answered after seeing a doctor in person.

Good luck and we will be here if you need us in the future.
