Hi dagit
The fact that nodes are going down and others are coming up discounts lymphoma or at least makes it very unlikely. If the nodes you are feeling are about the size of jelly beans this is normal. What is probably happening is your prodding and poking of your nodes is causing them to swell or you are hypervigilant and finding nodes you could not feel before.
You really should go and see a doctor, no one here can help you at this time. Stop driving yourself crazy, make that appointment as soon as possible.
Good luck _________________ Age 52

Dagit,
I concur with ChemoMan and again reiterate my last post (with a few spelling corrections). How could it be lymphoma if the nodes go up and down like they are doing...or even cancer? The indolent forms, like I have, "wax and wane" over their course, but NOT like the way you are describing. It takes months for them to change.
If you keep "poking" at them while attempting to find them, then you are going to make them sore...which will worry you more.
Relax. _________________ Don B

Hi Guys.
Ive had the results of my blood test and spoken to my Dr (in depth) about the situation and the worry and he has confirmed that i DONT have Lymphoma.
Apparently my glands were up due to infection and/or allergies.
I want to thank you all - especially Don and Chemoman for all of your advice and encouragement, even though i was worrying for nothing and scared beyond belief, the fact that you took the time to give out advice was fantastic.
Thank you both for being there - my hopes and prayers are with you both for a complete and definite recovery.
On another note, I hope that my postings can bring hope to those who have similar symptoms to me and are worrying as much as i was - all for nothing. My Dr said that in a 40 yr career he has only diagnosed Lymphoma twice - so i completely agree with you both, it is incredibly rare.
Good luck to both of you.
All the Best
Dagit. |
